Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has stressed that the club will not rush to bring Michael Olise back from his injury in order to avoid potential long-term problems. Olise had to be substituted due to a knee injury in Saturday's game against Borussia Dortmund, which ended in a draw. On Monday, the winger trained with a bandage around his knee and traveled with the team to Madrid, but his fitness to play remains questionable. This season, Olise has scored 12 goals and provided 6 assists in 13 games. Only Lamine Yamal (23) and Raphinha (20) have more direct goal involvements in the five major European leagues. In addition to Olise, Manuel Neuer is also a question mark for the duel on Tuesday. Eberl gave an update on both players: "As for Michael Olise, we'll look at him again on Tuesday; we're taking it day by day," Eberl said. “It is good that he is traveling with us because he is an outstanding player who is always a great asset, but we want to avoid the risk of the injury becoming a long-term problem. Manuel Neuer has been out for a long time but is training again, so we'll see how it goes.” Bayern have drawn their last two games in this round of the competition (3-3 against Viking, 2-2 against Arsenal) and have not drawn three consecutive Champions League draws in almost 20 years - most recently between October and December 2006. Despite only two wins from eight matches against Bayern in European competitions, Atletico Madrid are undefeated at home against Munich (2 wins, 1 draw). Harry Kane, who has scored in his last ten Champions League games for Bayern, expects a tough challenge in the Spanish capital. “They are a very strong team and very good defensively,” Kane said of Atletico. "You might think that you only think about their defense, but they are also strong in attack. They like to play football, especially in attack. And they have some very dangerous players, so we won't underestimate them. We expect a very physical game. That is one of their strengths. But we have to be careful defensively; we hope we can improve some things.
