Como keeps Nico Paz: No move to Inter, Real Madrid pays 60 million
Como has decided not to sell Nico Paz to Inter and instead accept a buyback option from Real Madrid for 60 million euros.
FC Como has decided to keep Nico Paz in its ranks and has rejected interest from Inter Milan. After Real Madrid exercised its €10 million buyback clause, the Lombardy club has accepted the Spanish club's counter-offer. Como will now buy back Nico Paz for 60 million euros. Real Madrid will receive a new buyback clause of 80 million euros, which is only valid for next summer. Should Real fail to buy back the Argentine player, who is currently competing in the World Cup, Como will have the freedom to decide Paz's future, with a percentage of future transfer fees having to be paid to the Spanish club. For Real Madrid, Nico Paz is the fifth most profitable transfer and he will also enter the top ten most expensive transfers in the history of Italian football. The purchase sends a strong signal to both Serie A and UEFA, as Como must comply with Financial Fair Play rules this season. Cesc Fabregas, while criticizing Inter for their advertising, had already hinted: "He stays here or goes to Real Madrid." He was right, and now he can build the team around his playmaker for the coming season in the top Italian league. The Como is only at the beginning of its project.
