However, for استقلال, Štrkalj's most memorable goal is the one that secured the Super League title. In the Supercup he came on in the 67th minute for Duško Đurić and scored the decisive goal for Tractor in stoppage time, exactly in the 90th + 1 minute. This substitution, which took place in the final minutes of the game, changed the course of the game in the Reds' favor. The goal resulted from a mistake by Armin Sohrabian. Štrkalj took advantage of the opportunity, grabbed the ball, overtook the استقلال defender with a quick sprint and then found himself alone in front of the goalkeeper Antonio Adán, whom he beat with a precise shot.
His speed and composure at the crucial moment secured Tractor the 2-1 victory and the Supercup title. In a later interview, Štrkalj spoke about that moment: "I noticed that the defenders and the goalkeeper were confused and I just started running at a very high speed." This short explanation shows an important aspect of his playing style: a striker who follows the opponent's mistake and fights for the opportunity until the last second.
This season he once again proved that his substitutions can be valuable when he played against Persepolis in the 90th minute and scored the winning goal just four minutes later. With injuries to several players and limited options for Nekounam, the importance of this striker has increased. While he could still be behind Maghanlou and Hosseinzadeh, if the Tractor coach needs a fresh striker during the game, he has an important option in Štrkalj. A player who once paid a high price for his lack of opportunities.
