Serie A is heading into a new season and Luciano Moggi, the former Juventus managing director, has his thoughts on the teams that have the best chance of winning the title this year. In his opinion, there will be another exciting duel between Inter and Napoli. “The league continues to be dominated by these two teams,” said Moggi. However, there are uncertainties regarding AC Milan. "I can't comment on Milan as they are a completely new team. Amorim has never worked with these players before and I'm not sure how they will develop," explains Moggi. He admits that he has been surprised in the past and is therefore cautious in his assessments. He gives an example in relation to Florentino Pérez, who in the past often hired the coaches before the assistant coaches. This led to a discussion about the importance of preparation and coaching in football, with Moggi stressing that Amorim must coach Leao, who has taken himself out of the game, and that Fofana is not factored into his plans. Nevertheless, he remains optimistic that Milan could have a respectable season. Moggi describes the situation at AS Roma as “a big question mark”. He emphasizes that the team will be significantly influenced by the performance of Malen, who could either ensure success or difficulties. Lazio are under pressure and appear to be in trouble in the transfer market. "They are like a ship in stormy waters. It is difficult to make a judgment about their situation and I regret that the outlook is negative," says Moggi. And what about Juventus? Moggi believes that going back to the roots of market knowledge through Massara and Carnevali will have a positive impact. “It will take two to three years for Juventus to play at the same level as before,” he added. One team he is particularly interested in is Como, which boasted many young players last season and is now aiming to play at a higher level. “It could be that some players have become arrogant because the challenges this season are very different to last year,” warns Moggi. In the world of fantacalcio, Moggi gives advice: "I recommend Mastantuono. He has quality and talent. He could be the player who makes a difference."

What happens next

The upcoming games in Serie A will show whether Moggi's assessments are correct. In particular, the development of Milan and Roma will be closely monitored, while Inter and Napoli will look to maintain their supremacy. Mastantuono's performance could be crucial for players' Fantacalcio points and further cement his role in the league.
