Former player Ndoum Onuha reported that members of Manchester City's women's team faced extreme abuse during their recent trip to London. This incident occurred at the same time as the official announcement of Citizens' final conviction for serious financial violations, which has placed a heavy burden on both the club and its players. This unpleasant situation occurred about ten days before the women's team's upcoming game against Charlton. Onuha, whose family is on the coaching staff of the women's team, said: "The news of the club's condemnation was made public while the team was en route to London. The players traveling with the team were shocked by this toxic environment as they did not expect such behavior. When the bus bearing the Manchester City logo arrived at the hotel, they were greeted with truly disgusting and inappropriate comments." The 39-year-old former Citizens player spoke about the enormous psychological pressure that the players are under: "There are people in the club who were unaware of these scandals and the financial allegations, but now they have to face the consequences and their job has become ten times more difficult. Every time these players wear the City jersey or ride on the team bus, they have to endure the hostile looks and mocking comments from others." Onuha also referred to the unclear situation that prevails at the Etihad Stadium: "The most difficult part is the uncertainty; no one knows what the future holds for the team. New news comes to us every day. The 115 allegations are the biggest scandal in the history of the Premier League, but now the mayor of Manchester, the tax authorities and geopolitical issues are also involved." Manchester City's training sessions will resume from Thursday under the direction of Enzo Maresca. An intensive program with nine games is scheduled for the next four weeks. The first challenge for the Citizens will take place next Sunday at Anfield against Liverpool. Due to the explosive situation and the fear of possible clashes, the police and security authorities have already held joint meetings to ensure order. City's players are aware that they can expect the most hostile reactions from opposing fans at away games.

Manchester City's women's team now faces the challenge of focusing on their upcoming game against Charlton while dealing with the fallout from the incident.
