Manchester United could do this next summer

Why this is important

The potential signing of Lewis Hall could help Manchester United strengthen their defense, especially considering the left-back has shown great potential in the past. Hall, who moved from Chelsea to Newcastle in 2022, has attracted interest from top clubs despite his struggles so far this season. A move to a Bundesliga club could also boost his development should he decide to move.

Background

Lewis Hall, the 23-year-old left-back, has received limited playing time at Newcastle United this season and is currently out with an injury. Despite his limited appearances, Hall made 31 appearances for the Magpies last season and also played for the England under-21 team. His talent and the previous enthusiasm of Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag could make him a sought-after player in the upcoming transfer window.

Manchester United Could Move In For This Newcastle United Left-Back Next Summer: Good Fit For Carrick?.

According to a report from The Sun, Manchester United could make an approach to Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall next summer. The report mentions that the Red Devils could be planning a return for the English defensive player, having already shown strong interest in Hall in the summer of 2023. Hall moved from Chelsea to Newcastle for £30 million in the summer of 2022, but has not really made an impact this season (2023/24). The 23-year-old has only played 3 games for the Magpies so far this season (all in the Premier League) and is currently out with an injury. In the last season (2022/23), Hall made 31 appearances for Newcastle, but was unable to really establish himself as a regular player there either. The left-back also played three games for the England U21 national team this season. Carrick is a big fan of Hall As already mentioned, Manchester United had a lot of interest in Lewis Hall in the summer of 2023. According to The Sun, coach Erik Ten Hag was a big fan of the player and wanted him un conditionally obliged. However, Newcastle United have decided not to release the player. However, according to The Sun's report, Manchester United are planning to make a new attempt to sign Lewis Hall in the summer of 2024. Hall is also said to be on the radar of Chelsea, who would like to bring him back. The Sun's report also mentions that United's U21 coach Michael Carrick is said to be a big fan of Lewis Hall and that this could also facilitate a potential move. Would Lewis Hall be a good fit for Manchester United? That's an interesting question. In the preseason (2022/23) Lewis Hall played both at left defense and as a left winger. At Manchester United, however, the left side is currently very well occupied. With players like Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and also Sofyan Amrabat often deployed on the left this season, United have plenty of options on the left side. However, if Hall were to be scheduled as a pure left-back in the future, he would have to compete with Luke Shaw, who will soon be back after his injury, and Tyrell Malacia. It is currently difficult to say whether Lewis Hall would actually be a good fit for Manchester United. What do you think about Manchester United's possible interest in Lewis Hall in the summer of 2024? Good idea or not?

What happens next
