Nagelsmann's position at Germany is wavering, Klopp wants to become national coach

Support for Julian Nagelsmann's stay as Germany coach has waned after the painful 1-0 defeat in the World Cup round of 16 against Paraguay, which was decided on penalties, at least that's what German media reports. However, the President of the DFB, Bernd Neuendorf, did not want to announce any early decisions yet.
After the defeat on Monday evening, Nagelsmann announced that he would not resign of his own accord, but the likelihood that the 38-year-old coach will actually be able to fulfill his contract, which runs until 2028, has not increased. According to German media, reaching the quarter-finals was seen by the DFB as the bare minimum after Germany had to exit the group stage of the previous two World Cups in 2018 and 2022. Neuendorf admitted on Tuesday that the performance of “The Team” did not meet expectations.
"After such a disappointment, we can't just go back to business as usual," said Neuendorf, which is interpreted as a gloomy signal for Nagelsmann's future. A thorough evaluation will take place in the coming days. The position of the technical director, Rudi Völler, will also be reviewed.

future.
According to Sky, Klopp, who currently works as Global Sports Director at Red Bull, would be very interested in the position of national coach if the DFB asked him.
Lothar Matthäus, the record national player, would be surprised if Nagelsmann was allowed to stay.
"Julian has to be honest with himself. Did he get the best out of the team? The clear answer to that is no," said Matthäus in his column for Sky.
"There was a lot of uncertainty in the team, I wonder if the players even understood him."
