Pierpaolo Marino is the new director of SSC Bari

Pierpaolo Marino has been officially introduced as the new director of SSC Bari. After the official confirmation, he can now start working at the club. SSC Bari announced in a statement: "SSC Bari welcomes Pierpaolo Marino, who will take up the position of Director Generale biancorosso." Marino, born in 1954 and coming from Avellino, brings with him a wealth of experience characterized by a successful career in football.

He took his first steps as sports director at Avellino in the 1977-78 season, where he contributed to the achievement of Serie A, which was retained for nine consecutive seasons. He experienced a historic phase at Napoli, where he helped set up the team that won the first Scudetto of the Maradona era under Diego Maradona and was instrumental in the signing of the "Pibe de Oro".



This was followed by an engagement at Roma, where he acted as direct advisor to President Viola and Director Generale. Under his leadership, Roma reached third place in his first season. After another spell in Avellino as president of Parmalat, he returned to Serie A and showed his talent at Pescara, where he facilitated a surprise promotion to Serie A in the 90s.

He also demonstrated his particular skill in Udine, where he helped the club establish itself as one of the most stable realities in Italian football, achieving six qualifications for European competitions in twelve years, including one for the Champions League. In 2004 he accepted the challenge of leading Napoli, who were promoted from Serie C. In three seasons he achieved promotion to Serie A and qualification for UEFA, while also bringing talents such as Ezequiel Lavezzi and Marek Hamsik to Italy.

Marino, who also enjoyed success at Atalanta, now comes to Bari to bring his expertise, passion and sporting vision to the club, supported by his impressive work ethic.
