Ravenna, Mandorlini: "I dream of Serie A. I want to go a route like Monza or Como"
Ravenna FC ends its first season in Serie C with a third place finish and is aiming for a future in Serie A, according to sporting director Davide Mandorlini.
Ravenna FC finished their first season in Serie C with an impressive third place in the table. After a first half of the season in which the team was at the top with 13 wins, 2 draws and only 2 defeats, they achieved a successful result, even if they were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the playoffs against Salernitana.
Davide Mandorlini, the club's sporting director, is satisfied with how the season has gone and already has great ambitions for the future. "The full Benelli Stadium is our greatest success. This season has been very positive - Ravenna has started to experience football as an event again," explained Mandorlini.
He emphasized the personal connection to his hometown club: "It gives me great pleasure to work here. I made my debut in Serie B with this jersey number at the age of 16. The city's new enthusiasm is an incentive to continue to grow."
The club's rise has been rapid: after winning the Coppa Italia Serie D in 2025, promotion to Serie C followed and now third place in the first season. Mandorlini is carefully pursuing new goals: "We are looking up, but we will not live beyond our means: we work with well-thought-out investments and are always looking for the right players."

His transfers have produced both experienced players with Serie A backgrounds, such as Okaka, Donati and Viola, as well as young talent. The case of Stefano Okaka is particularly noteworthy. "It was already an idea to sign him last year in Germany, but he didn't feel ready yet. After two years without match practice, it wasn't easy, but he worked hard and scored crucial goals."
Another newcomer in January, Firiegeller, was immediately able to impress with 8 goals. Mandorlini also praises former coach Marco Marchionni, who was replaced by Andrea Mandorlini, his father: "Marchionni did a great job and we would like to thank him for the strong first part of the season. My father brings a lot with him with his experience and has nurtured a lot of talent."
The family constellation in the club is unique: Davide as sports director, Andrea as coach and Matteo as player. "It's nice to work with family, but on the pitch we are professional."
Mandorlini has big long-term plans: "Dreaming doesn't cost anything, so I say we want to go to Serie A and before that, Serie B. Next season will be difficult because strong teams await us. But my father proved in Verona that you can get promoted from C1 to Serie A. This club deserves a similar path to Monza or Como. Therefore - with both feet on the ground, we want to dream big!"
