Ismael Saibari attracted even more attention at the opening of the World Cup. The PSV attacking midfielder gave Morocco the lead in their first group game against record world champions Brazil. Before the duel at MetLife Stadium, Saibari was lined up as the striker for Morocco, which started the tournament well. The Moroccans already had a few chances before Saibari took the lead after just over twenty minutes. The PSV player was sent deep by Brahim Diaz and saw Alisson Becker well in front of his goal. Saibari played a clever bobbing ball around the Brazilian goalkeeper. For Saibari, who seems to be on the verge of a mega transfer to Bayern Munich, it was the tenth goal for Morocco. All previous games in which he had scored were won.
