The situation between Dusan Vlahovic and Juventus has changed significantly. After the Serbian striker rejected an offer to extend his contract in June, the initiative now lies with the Bianconeri. Vlahovic, who originally wanted to leave the club after four years, has changed his mind but it may be too late to re-enter negotiations. Negotiations over a contract extension have been a hot topic for a long time. Juventus has repeatedly tried to reach an agreement with the player and his management over the past three years. Despite repeated attempts, a personal meeting that would have been necessary to discuss the conditions never took place. Vlahovic's contract, which was signed in January 2022, has now expired. Juventus officials tried in June to convince the player to sign a new, two-year contract that would have made him the team's highest-paid player at over 7 million euros annually. However, Vlahovic, convinced that he could find better offers than a new contract at Juventus, refused. In the weeks following his rejection there was no interest from other top clubs in Europe. Vlahovic suddenly found himself in an unexpected situation and knocked on Juventus' door again. However, the Bianconeri were adamant and informed the player's agents that they were unwilling to maintain the original offer. Now the conditions that Juventus are willing to offer him are significantly worse. According to reports, he could only receive €6 million a year, without any additional bonuses. The Juventus management has not spoken to Vlahovic or his team to date, and the strategy seems clear: Juventus is not willing to go beyond the 6 million euros offered and does not want to bring any more bonuses into the negotiations. The player is now at a crossroads: either he accepts the new, reduced contract option at Juventus or he opts for a financially more attractive offer from clubs like Besiktas, which would, however, mean a move to a “lower” league. The decision now rests solely with Vlahovic. He is faced with a choice: accept the contract with Juventus and miss out on a unique opportunity or consider a lucrative move to another club. A decision could be made in the coming days and uncertainty about his future will remain. It remains to be seen how this situation will develop and whether Vlahovic can come to an agreement with Juventus or whether he will choose a different path.

What happens next

The next steps in the negotiations between Vlahovic and Juventus are uncertain. Should the player continue to hesitate, Juventus could be forced to look for other options to strengthen their attack. At the same time, it remains to be seen whether Vlahovic is actually ready to change his mind and accept a new contract with Juventus, or whether he will continue to seek a move to another Serie A club.
