Celtic are looking to add reinforcements to their squad in the winter transfer window. One player who appears to be close to a move to the Scottish champions is Egyptian winger Haissem Hassan from Pyramids FC. According to a report from BBC Scotland, Hassan could soon become a Celtic player. But who is Haissem Hassan? The 22-year-old was born in Alexandria and began his football training there with Al Ahly's youth team. In 2018 he then moved to Ismaily SC's U19s, where he was promoted to the first team in 2019. In 2021 he moved to Pyramids FC, where he played a total of 55 games in the league and scored 10 goals. He also prepared 11 goals for his teammates. The winger can draw attention to himself, especially in the current season. In 12 league appearances he scored 5 goals and prepared 4 more goals. Hassan is considered a fast and strong dribbling winger who prefers to play on the left side, but can also be deployed on the right side. The 22-year-old has appeared in 7 games for the Egyptian national team so far, scoring 1 goal. He made his debut on March 26, 2023 in a friendly against the Guinea national team. In this game, Hassan came on as a substitute in the 77th minute. He then played his first international match as a starting eleven on June 12, 2023 in a World Cup qualifier against the Liberia national team. In this game he also scored his first goal for the national team when he made it 2-0 for Egypt in the 68th minute. The decisive factor in Hassan's possible move to Celtic is likely to be the positive reports from his coach at Pyramids FC, who described Hassan as a very talented player, as well as the recommendation of Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egyptian national team and Liverpool star, who also considers Hassan to be very talented and advised him to move to Europe. If the move to Celtic actually goes through, Hassan would probably push for the position in the Scotland squad of Liel Abada, who has been very successful this season but is apparently looking for a move and has already informed Celtic that he wants to move next summer.

What happens next

Should the move to Celtic come about, Hassan could quickly be integrated into the squad to support the team in the current competition. The Scottish champions have proven in the past that they can successfully develop talented players from abroad. Fans and experts will be eagerly watching to see how Hassan fares in the new environment.
