Will Jürgen Klopp be the solution for Liverpool's Florian

According to Sports.

Background

Florian Wirtz, a talented playmaker, established himself as a key player at Bayer Leverkusen before moving to Liverpool. Under Jürgen Klopp, he could have the opportunity to further develop his skills and take on a central role in Liverpool's game, which would be hugely important for both the player and the Premier League club.

Why this is important

Florian Wirtz is in focus as his performances at Liverpool fall short of expectations. The move for a record £115m has raised expectations, but the reality is different. With Jürgen Klopp on the sidelines of the German national team, Wirtz could receive the support he needs to develop his potential and find his form.

Key findings

• Will Jürgen Klopp be the solution for Liverpool's Florian.
• Florian Wirtz, struggling at Liverpool, shows promise under Jurgen Klopp during international duty with Germany, raising hopes for his domestic performance.
• Will Jurgen Klopp be the answer to Liverpool's Florian Wirtz problem?.

Opinions on Florian Wirtz vary on Merseyside as the German has struggled to consistently impress since arriving in Liverpool. When the 23-year-old moved to the Reds for around £115 million, a then British record transfer fee, expectations were high. It wasn't entirely clear how the creative talent would fit into Jurgen Klopp's system, but it felt like the Premier League champions were adding one of the best players in football. Wirtz was a crucial part of Bayer Leverkusen's success in Germany and many assumed his move to Liverpool would take his game to the next level. But the opposite was the case. The German struggled seriously to find any form of consistency in Liverpool. Hopes were that the time at Klopp's first training session with the national team, which Wirtz completed this international break, would help him develop better. Wirtz played 205 minutes for the DFB team during the international break, including two full 90 minutes, and was one of the most noticeable players in Klopp's team. The hope that Klopp could better support Liverpool's struggling star seemed to be confirmed. But the question remains as to how these achievements can be transferred to the national level. After Germany's 2-0 win over Serbia, in which Wirtz scored, the player said: "My teammates made the game a lot easier for me today. There was so much movement around me and when I have that, it makes it easier for me to shine again." The international break has apparently given Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola an insight into how he can use Wirtz better: he needs to get the players around him moving more. However, it is unrealistic to assume that Iraola will fundamentally change his system just to get the best performances from one player. The key to making Wirtz successful at Liverpool will be to let him play in the spirit of Iraola. While it is a positive that Wirtz was able to gain confidence during this international break, it remains to be seen whether his time with Klopp will help him fit better into Liverpool's game. It is still early to draw a conclusion as to whether working under Klopp has actually helped Wirtz. But the signs so far are positive and it seems like things are moving in the right direction.

What happens next

The coming weeks will be crucial to see whether Wirtz can transfer the positive impressions from the national team to the Premier League. Klopp could play a key role in helping Wirtz fit better into Liverpool's system. Fans and experts will be watching closely to see whether the player can show an improvement in performance after his return to the Reds.
