De Laurentiis, go away!

The return to Serie C has opened an almost unbridgeable gap between Bari fans and the club's management. A group of supporters have decided to step up their form of protest through an advertisement in the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno to send a clear message to the De Laurentiis family. The text is unmistakable: "De Laurentiis, get away from Bari. Bari is not a game for you, the city is not yours."



The crisis between the club, the fans and the city administration is clearly noticeable. The discontent arose due to the sporting failure last season, which culminated in the relegation of the team coached by Morena Longo from Serie B to Serie C. But the tensions are not limited to the relationship between the fans and the club's management: there is also a power struggle between the company (controlled by Filmauro, which also manages Napoli) and the city of Bari over the documentation required for the use of the San Nicola stadium. In recent months, Filmauro has been the only company to apply for the five-year management of the stadium.

A clarifying meeting is coming up. The mayor of Bari, Vito Leccese, has formally asked Luigi De Laurentiis to outline the club's future plans. A meeting is planned in the coming days at which the company will present the new sporting and economic plan. This meeting will be crucial to understand if and how the De Laurentiis family intends to take over the leadership of a club whose fans are currently demanding the opposite.
